Your journey begins in the morning from Kigali, where you are met by your safari guide for a scenic road transfer to Uganda. The drive takes you through Rwanda’s rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and picturesque countryside before crossing the border into Uganda.

Continue through the highland landscapes toward the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, specifically the Rushaga region, which is known for gorilla habituation experiences. Upon arrival, check into a luxury forest lodge surrounded by dense rainforest and mist-covered hills.

Spend your afternoon relaxing at the lodge, enjoying nature views, fresh forest air, and preparing for the next day’s once-in-a-lifetime gorilla encounter.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, proceed to the Rushaga sector briefing point in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Here, you are assigned to a gorilla habituation group alongside researchers and expert trackers.

Unlike standard gorilla trekking, the habituation experience allows you to spend up to four hours with a semi-habituated gorilla family as they gradually become accustomed to human presence. You trek deep into the forest, navigating thick vegetation, steep slopes, and dense jungle until you locate the group.

Once found, you observe their daily life in extraordinary detail—watching feeding behavior, grooming interactions, playfulness among juveniles, and the calm dominance of the silverback. This extended encounter offers unmatched intimacy with mountain gorillas.

Day 3: Return Drive to Kigali

After a relaxed breakfast surrounded by the sounds of nature, begin your return journey to Kigali. The drive takes you once again through the scenic hills of southwestern Uganda and northern Rwanda, offering beautiful photography stops along the way.
