Day 1: Kampala / Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park
Depart early from Kampala or Entebbe and drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey takes approximately 6–7 hours with a stop for lunch along the way. En route, visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot, where you can see Uganda’s rare rhinos in a semi-wild setting. Upon arrival in the park, check in to your lodge and enjoy dinner. If time permits, take a short evening game drive in the nearby savannah to spot elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and antelopes. Overnight in the park.
Day 2: Murchison Falls – Morning Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise
After an early breakfast, embark on a morning game drive in the park’s northern sector. Look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, and giraffes grazing in the savannah. Return to the lodge for lunch, then enjoy a scenic boat cruise along the Nile River to the base of the Murchison Falls. Spot hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds along the riverbanks. In the late afternoon, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Murchison Falls to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes approximately 8–9 hours, so it’s an early start. The journey passes through scenic farmland, terraced hills, and local villages. Arrive in the afternoon, check in to your lodge in Buhoma or Nkuringo sector, and relax. Prepare for the gorilla trek the following day. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will trek to a habituated gorilla family in the dense rainforest. Trekking can take 1–4 hours depending on the gorilla location. Spend one hour observing the gorillas, taking photos, and enjoying this rare encounter. After trekking, return to the lodge for lunch and optional community visits or short nature walks in the forest vicinity. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Bwindi to Kigali, Rwanda
Depart early from Bwindi and drive south toward the Rwanda border, completing immigration formalities. Continue to Kigali (approximately 3–4 hours from the border). Optional stops include scenic viewpoints or local communities along the way. Arrive in Kigali in the late afternoon or early evening. Drop off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport marks the end of the safari.
